Welcome to the Explore Nature Encyclopedia Series! This is the companion nature journal to the book, Backyard Discoveries! Throughout these pages, you are encouraged to draw and describe your own exploration of creatures right in your own backyard or nature park. Make observations and take field notes as we guide you in creating your very own Backyard Discoveries Nature Field Guide. As a nature explorer, you will learn how to interact with our natural world and make your very own nature discoveries. When you know more about the world around you, you can take an active part in appreciating, protecting, and respecting all that the natural world has to offer - including the creatures right in your own backyard!
